posted by admin in Uncategorized

If you’re looking for an adventure holiday in Cornwall then the best place for you to base yourself is at The Old Bridge House Hotel in Looe. Not only does the hotel provide excellent accommodation and value for money, but it acts as a natural jumping off point for many outdoor-adrenalin-filled activities. A recent review of Looe has revealed the town as one of the places to be for people seeking thrills in the South West.

The recent furore surrounding the England rugby team’s decision to go bungee jumping on their day off only served to remind me how much I’d love to tackle a jump in New Zealand. The players are over there for the World Cup and some commentators suggested it was a less than safe pursuit for professional athletes 48 hours before a big game. Bollocks. Bungee jumping is probably safer than rugby! And if you don’t take the chance to do it while you’re in New Zealand – the unofficial home of bungee – then you’ll probably never forgive yourself. I know I regret not having a go when I was over there a few years ago. Mind you, I was there for a family wedding and it was either bungee jumping or help collect red diesel, so we could actually have enough power for the evening party. I guess my Grandma would never have spoken to me ever again if I’d picked the first option….

Surf’s Up All Over The World!

It’s summer, which means that it’s time for some water sport activity! One of the best is surfing (it still remains one of my favourites) and if you look hard enough you can find some great coaches and resorts to try out be you a beginner or a veteran. Wherever you end up though make sure you have a good broadband connection for sharing your experiences with your mates back home.

…watch your existing service provider doesn’t hit you with high roaming charges before you set out…

Peaks and Troughs in Britain

Peaks and Troughs in Britain

You can’t swim with the sharks in the UK – not unless a particularly thick great white has got seriously confused and is roaming around the stony beaches of Brighton. Nor can you mountain bike down the Grand Canyon or scale Mount Everest. But, the simple, pleasant little UK, minus any real life-threatening creatures or top world mountains, still offers a wide range of thrill-inducing breaks.

First off, Britain adopted bunjee-jumping with a vengeance. One of the best spots for More

Glamping Galicia

The biggest thrill I can experience from a holiday is doing something that is totally alien, totally outside of my comfort zone and totally different from my normal way of life. I most recently stayed at an eco glamping site in the beautiful Galicia (northern Spain) called Mino Valley Retreats where your accommodation choice was that of either a native American tipi or a Mongolian yurt. Find excitement closer to home

Not all thrill seekers can afford to go bungee-jumping in New Zealand or snowmobile racing in Canada. Some of us only have UK teaching jobs, so we’re lucky if we can afford to spend a few days camping in the Lake District! Just because we have to stay a bit closer to home doesn’t mean we have to miss out on all the fun, though. There are centres dedicated to extreme sports all over the UK these days, though More

Adventure Travel is Awesome, but What About the Pets?

Adventure Travel is Awesome, but What About the Pets?

Many people get to the point whereby they simply need to escape, but if your escaping means getting away for a long break what will you do about your beloved animals? Send them to a kennel; get a house sitter, or how about bringing them with you? After all they deserve a break too surely?

For a dog this could well be understandable, a cat could be a little harder (especially if the cat is fully accustomed to the great More

Holy Water Rafting

The Indian subcontinent is blessed with nature’s bounties. One of the biggest gifts of Mother Nature is the Himalayas up north. Not only do they tower above the sub-continent majestically beckoning adventure seekers to walk on its chest and conquer its summit but they also unleash the fury of a large network of rivers. White water enthusiasts are treated to a high energy ride with the water surging out of the lofts of the Himalayas over the boulders lining the riverbeds whirling and swishing their way out from the confines of the mountain.

The Ganga River which originates from Gaumukh in Garhwal region is a superb river for inflatable rafts. Buoying yourself on the raft and riding over the water body exuding a wildness and strength is a challenge for man. A human cannot contain the fury of the wild but you can grow in spirit and learn to appreciate the brute ruggedness of this creation of the Almighty. A simple thing such as water can give you life by quenching your thirst and also be a danger to life if not respected and handled with care. That is the thrill of white water rafting in Rishikesh.

The first day reach base camp and get acquainted with the area around taking in the first glimpse of the river and its behavior. The second day you can canoe down to a more tame set of rapids near Shivpuri and hit some of the known entities of the river such as The Wall, Black Money, Cross Fire, and Three Blind Mice Rapids. Once you have had a taste of this adrenaline rush you will be begging for more. That is when you hit Rishikesh and tackle the Return to Sender, Roller Coaster, Golf Course, etc. Word has it that the intoxication and exuberance of riding the raging rapids is like wrestling down nature’s creature.

A rafting holiday is something that you should experience at least once in your life, especially if your daily profession of being a mortgage broker or professor does not give you enough adrenalin rush.

Cuba- the place to visit

posted by admin in Uncategorized

I dont know if you need a trailer insurance, but I am sure you should find money and time to go there…

I begin to write this story without any experience in these endeavors, but hurry to not miss the time before the details of my memories of traveling to Cuba are gone.

I hope to have a useful future enthusiast, decided to experience the different world of people from the island of freedom.

So it all started in late August 2009 when my friend spontaneously decided that it is time to realize that its far-off dream. Cuba has long attracted me for several reasons. One is that I have a passion for everything in December as speaking Spanish, the second - for three years dancing Cuban salsa and quite often we have talked about the third - to see or rather to remember the social system that still reign there, and naturally for the sake of journey.

So, 10 days after our conversation I had already bought tickets and accommodations committed to the end of November 2009 Now the little details about it. Our flight was Sofia with Bulgaria Air Madrid (BGN 110 in both directions) and Madrid-Havana with Air Europe (624 euros). To return ticket paid in total by 1350 per person - a pretty decent price, although a month before the flight prices for the flight (to Hawaii) fell slightly, as well as those of Air France, but one does not know. Another option is to travel with Air Comet. Air Europe and Air Comet Airlines are Spanish.

In terms of accommodation in Cuba have an excellent opportunity so-called casa particular. These are legalized rooms that Cubans rent against which the state paid monthly installments. Entitled to give only two rooms and a contribution due to the state whether they had guests during the month or not. In Havana, the tax is about 260 CUC per month.

CUC is an abbreviation for peso convertible - this is one of two official currencies operating in the country. Another is the peso cubano or moneda nacional, or in short CUP. CUC is seen as the currency in Cuba (Cubans call it divisa, ie currency) and is designed for tourists, 1 Euro = 1,33 CUC. A CUP Cubans receive their monthly salaries, pay a minimal amount of their monthly rations food, utilities, taxis and others at 1 CUC = 24 CUP.
